Peninsular Technologies, LLC Press Releases

1 June 2008 -- Ada, MI
Peninsular Technologies LLC of Ada, Michigan announced the expansion of its international vision inspection business with the introduction of the DIGISIGHT Inspection System for the Food Processing, Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Home Care, and Consumer Goods industries. Lee Morgan of Rockford, Michigan has been hired as Vice President of Integration & Project Management.

The DIGISIGHT Inspection System has been designed to integrate throughout the manufacturing line, keeping an "eye" on operations that can affect the designated inspection task, as well as track the product after it has been inspected. Standard applications include label inspection, capping, fill level, date codes (OCR, OCV), case packing, palletizing, and raw product inspection. Custom inspection applications with multiple communications integration are available as well. The system can be designed to run unattended, if desired. Peninsular Technologies provides full training, support, and warranties on the system.

Morgan, with 25 years experience with process controls engineering, system integration, electrical engineering and system installations, has worked with industry leaders such as Gerber, Kellogg’s, Country Fresh, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Parmalat, Pharmacia and Upjohn using equipment from Allen-Bradley, Modicon, Square-D and Omron. He will direct the integration of vision systems into customer's existing process and production systems, manage vision system installations and assist in automated inspection system development and customization.

Peninsular Technologies was founded in 1998, and today has hundreds of its patented vision inspection systems operating throughout North and South America, Europe, and Australia. Initial applications focused on the inspection of oil pipelines, waste management systems, and utility-based applications through Peninsular’s PipeTech® Suite of software.

Gary McAleenan, founder of Peninsular Technologies, notes the expansion into the food processing, beverage, pharmaceutical, home care, and consumer goods markets is not only a natural progression for the company, but something that is sorely needed in the marketplace:

"There are a number of inspection systems available to industries, but none designed to integrate throughout the manufacturing line, communicating critical data at any desired stage of the process. Tunnel vision doesn’t cut it in the industry, and the experience and reputation we have built with the pipeline and raw materials industries supports the need for this level of vision system integration in our targeted markets. We are excited about this growth and second generation vision system."
