The PipeTech® Inspection Interface seamlessly integrates the PipeTech® Scan software with inspection hardware such as distance encoders, CCTV camera feeds, and other devices. In a pinch, it can also serve as a stand-alone textual overlay for manual input with a USB keyboard. The PipeTech® Inspection Interface conveniently connects to your PC via USB or Bluetooth®.
The fifth generation PipeTech® Inspection Interface, known as the Sentinel, offers its operators even more functionality and options than ever before. The "Deluxe" edition of the Sentinel offers an even wider selection of features, including lateral camera video switching, inclination and grouting data input, and more.
New and improved functionality with the Sentinel includes the following:
- USB Communication - allows the device to be used in more versatile computing environments (such as laptops which may not have a serial port).
- BlueTooth Communication - in some cases, the number of USB ports is highly limited. Using the BlueTooth communication module in place of USB would free up a USB port.
- Improved communications - one of the main reasons for the producing the Sentinel was to improve the communications link between the overlay and the computer. The updated hardware in the Sentinel improves that link.
- Dual amplified video output - standard on all units, allows for additional cable routing and can improve degraded video in certain applications.
- Field upgradable firmware - this allows the Sentinel to receive the latest version of the firmware without having to leave the inspection truck. as production matures with this device, key features may be added to improve and enhance the operation of the device.
- Larger LCD front display - twice as large as the previous display on the Pii, allowing for additional information to be displayed. The white foreground font on a blue background gives the display nice contrast.
- Improved footage compensation.
- Configurable zero range for grout pressure (on Deluxe model only)
- Real-time clock display - keeps track of the current date and time.

- Video input over-voltage protection.
- Improved stand-alone (manual) mode operation - user configurable hot-key incident tagging, display configurable work order, static display field to show current date/time and important information.
- Footage compensation wizard.
- USB keyboard support.
